Luftbild Reetdorf Geltinger Birk - Das Reetdorf Geltinger Birk entstand zwischen 2018 und 2021 | Das Reetdorf Geltinger Birk entstand zwischen 2018 und 2021 auf dem Gelände der ehemaligen Sandkoppel-Kaserne in Nieby, die früher von der Bundesmarine genutzt wurde und nach deren Abzug leerstand. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit Architekten und Innenarchitekten wurden hier 48 Reetdachkaten in unterschiedlicher Größe errichtet, die sich an historischen Vorbildern aus der Region orientieren. Die Bauarbeiten waren so geplant, dass bereits nach der Hälfte der Bauphase große Teile des Dorfes bewohnbar waren.
